Banish Windows Recall AI

Windows Recall was a bad idea poorly executed, and even Windows recognized that an app that took screenshots of whatever was on your computer screen every few seconds and stored them insecurely was batshit bananapants to roll out to the general public.
I wasn't able to find anything more recent about it than April 2026, when about 10% of Windows 11 PCs had the app available, so it's possible this isn't one you have to worry about! But just in case, this is how you check to be sure it's not enabled on your computer.
Find your Settings and select Privacy & security. If you see "Recall" under Windows permissions, it's available to you. If you don't see it, congrats! It's not enabled on your PC.

If you do see it, turn off the "Save snapshots" toggle. You can also click "Delete snapshots" if it's already got its sneaky fingers on some of your stuff.
Like magic, poof! It's gone. Good work.
